A Secret to Greater Results

A Secret to Greater Results

Many people want to achieve greater results in their life. The question is where to begin doing the work. Proverbs 23:7 provides some wisdom, “For as a man {woman} thinks in her heart so is he {she}.” Thoughts are the surest way to get things moving. Thinking is one of the most underutilized tools. It is important to be clear about what you really want, and see yourself in possession of that desire now.

One way to do that is to allow your imagination to roam freely and fully experience the accompanying emotion. With social media, we routinely use emojis to attach emotion to messages we convey. The word “emoji” comes from the Japanese word which means picture. It is pretty easy to choose an emoji that conveys the emotion we wish to send with our written thoughts, but does the recipient feel the emotion? It is not the same emotional response as when we use our imagination to see images of what we desire to create.

For instance, if a person decides to become a speaker, the first place to entertain the idea is in their thoughts. If the person can imagine being on stage and how it feels to connect with their audience that is ideal. Furthermore, if the excitement of sharing a message is attached, it’s as if the experience is taking place in the moment. By rehearsing this over and over again the mind thinks it has already happened. Aren’t we fearfully and wonderfully made?

The point is, thoughts especially images can cause a person to feel a certain way. How a person feels causes them to take certain action toward their goals and action determines results. How’s that for achieving greater results? What would you attempt to do if you knew you could have the desires of your heart? All you have to do is begin to imagine, rehearse and take efficient action.
